Wellington: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) team manager Geoff Allot Monday said he will quit by the end of November.
Allott would leave soon after the Black Caps’ three-Test series on Indian soil. The visitors also play a five-match one-day series in December.
Former left-arm fast bowler Allott, who took up the job two years ago, said he is leaving in the best interest of the team.
“This was a difficult decision for me to make because I am passionate about the game that has given me so much. After a break with my family, I will consider several other opportunities that exist, both inside and outside of cricket,” Allot was quoted as saying in the New Zealand Herald.
NZC CEO Justin Vaughan said Allott has contributed immensely for the welfare of New Zealand cricket.
The New Zealanders arrived in India Sunday and will play the first Test in Ahmedabad starting Nov 4.
