Ranchi : Deep resentment prevails in Jharkhand’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as Chief Minister Arjun Munda’s close associate and his wife’s business partner was appointed party spokesperson.
Jharkhand BJP president Dineshanand Goswami Thursday constituted his team by appointing seven vice presidents, three general secretaries and five spokespersons.
Party sources said most of the appointed office bearers have Munda’s support but some are supporters of former state BJP president Raghubar Das. Both the leaders don’t see eye to eye and their relations got strained when Munda became chief minister in September.
The appointment of Amarjit Singh Kale, a close associate of Munda and business partner of his wife Meera Munda, has surprised the party leaders.
Meera Munda and Kale run a transport company in partnership. Munda supporters, however, say Kale has been appointed on merit.
“The central leaders should look into the appointment of office bearers. Any state leader should not be allowed to rule the party as a one-man show, like in the case of regional parties led by Lalu Prasad or Mulayam Singh Yadav,” a senior BJP leader told IANS here.
