Turkey rips Euro conservative parties for taking on rightist agenda

Berlin : The Turkish government lambasted western European conservative parties for emulating right-wing extremist groups, the daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel said in a report to hit the newsstands on Tuesday.

The latest success of right-wing and populist parties in West Europe is alarming, Turkey’s Minister for European Union Affairs Egemen Bagis was quoted as saying.

He voiced concern over the fact that center-right parties were using far-right rhetoric and policies to advance their political objectives.

He cited France’s controversial mass expulsion of Roma Gypsies, saying this was ordered by center-right government and not a rightist government.
