Islamabad : A minister has made a candid admission in Pakistan’s National Assembly — coruption is everywhere, “the question is where it is not.”
Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said: “I don’t say that there is no corruption in my ministry, but the question is where it is not.”
Bilour was replying to a supplementary question on whether the poor financial condition of Pakistan Railways was because of corruption in the ministry, Dawn reported Friday.
There was thin attendance during the question-hour session when Bilour made the off-the-cuff remark.
The minister said that the recent devastating floods in the country had caused a loss of Rs.7.696 billion to the Railways.
