Mumbai : Private lender Axis Bank said Thursday its second quarter profit jumped 38.27 percent to Rs.735.14 crore on higher interest revenues.
The bank posted a net profit of Rs.735.14 crore for the quarter ended Sep 30 as compared to Rs.531.64 crore during the same quarter last year, Axis Bank said in a statement.
The bank’s total income increased 18.63 percent to Rs.4,657.49 crore in the second quarter of fiscal 2010-11 from Rs3,925.94 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Axis Bank’s net profit in the first six months of current fiscal rose to Rs.1,477.02 crore from Rs.1,093.68 crore during the first half of 2009 fiscal.
The company’s income from interest rose to Rs.3,624 crore in the second quarter of 2010-11 from Rs.2,860.36 crore during the same quarter last year.
