Lucknow: The ongoing Working Committee meeting of All India Muslim Personal Law Board was intruded for a short while around noon today when a bearded, cleric looking person entered the conference hall at Nadwatul Ulema seminary here and started shouting at Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangimahli, the Board member attending the meeting.
The Board members were taken by surprise with the appearance of the person named as Haji Ahmed Hussain. He was taken out of the hall and handed over to the police but before that, Hussain was able to distribute a pamphlet among the media persons standing outside the hall.
In the pamphlet Hussain has made some allegations against Maulana Khalid Rasheed who is also Imam of Eidgah Aishbagh in the Uttar Pradesh capital. He urged the Board to remove Maulana Rasheed from the membership of the Board as “he is brining bad name to the Board.”
In the pamphlet he said the Aishbagh Eidgah is a wakf property but the Maulana has captured it and claims it to be his own property. Hussain also alleged that the Maulana has taken government funds and constructed a marriage hall, a hospital and a mosque in the premises of the Eidgah, in effect capturing half of the Eidgah land.
Maulana Rasheed was not available for comment as he was attending the meeting of the Board.
The Board working committee is discussing the future course of action on Babri issue: whether to move Supreme Court or prefer dialogue. After the meeting a press conference will be held at 4 pm where they will likely announce the decision.
