New Delhi:Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in India on Saturday, as there were no reports of moon-sighting anywhere in India till late Thursday.
“Since moon was not sighted till late evening, the fasting will continue till Friday, and Eid will be celebrated Saturday,” Jama Masjid spokesperson Amanullah told IANS quoting the Shahi Imam.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for Eid prayers in Jama Masjid, Fatehpuri Mosque and other venues in the capital, said a police official.
Friday will mark the end of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting.
