New Delhi : Four juveniles were held for robbing a man in north Delhi after threatening him with a knife, police said Friday.
Shahbuddin called up the police helpline Thursday night to reported that he had been robbed by four juveniles, one of them armed with a knife, of his wallet and mobile phone.
Acting swiftly, a police team reached the spot and apprehended two of the four juveniles, as they were attempting to flee.
“The two apprehended juveniles later revealed the whereabouts of their two other accomplices. All the four belong to the lower strata of the society, and had no other source of income. So they formed this gang and started to rob people to earn a quick buck,” a police official told IANS.
A knife and the stolen wallet and mobile phone have been recovered from the juveniles, who have been sent to a remand home.
