New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Monday hit back Commonwealth Games Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mike Hooper for his reported comments on Delhi’s population, terming it as “unkind and undiplomatic”.
“It’s a very unkind and undiplomatic remark,” Dikshit told reporters when asked to comment on Hooper’s remark of Delhi’s “population hazard”.
The CGF official while taking part in a closed-door meeting on the Commonwealth Games had asked for a 24-hour dedicated Games lane. But the suggestion was turned down by the officials.
At a function at her residence, Dikshit, who is now reviewing preparations at the Games Village in east Delhi, said: “We are working very hard and the work will be completed very soon.”
“We took over the Games Village in a very difficult situation,” she said in reply to a specific question.
On July 30, too, Dikshit was annoyed at Hooper’s negative comment on the Games. “Who is Mark Hooper?” she retorted to a question then.
