“The fast will continue till there is life in my body,” Hazare told his supporters at Jantar Mantar, in the vicinity of Parliament House here.

The government and civil society leaders held two rounds of negotiations Thursday, but failed to reach a consensus on two demands of the civil society leaders on the chairman of the drafting committee and its legal status.

On the government refusing to accept the demands, Hazare said, “Anna Hazare is not demanding the Lokpal Bill, it is the demand of the people. I don’t know why the government is not understanding this?”

He said politicians have forgotten that they are beholden to citizens who voted them to power.

“Just like a drunkard forgets everything under the effect of liquor, politician have forgotten their duties under the addiction of power and money,” he said.

On union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar resigning from the Group of Ministers on the anti-corruption legislation, Hazare said that it was not enough.

“This is not a question of Sharad Pawar. All those who are corrupt should be removed from the cabinet,” he said.
