Students express solidarity with Anna Hazare

New Delhi: In separate statements, Aligarh Muslim University Students’ Union (AMUSU) and Campus Front of India (CFI) have expressed solidarity with Gandhian Anna Hazara who is on a fast in Delhi to press for anti-corruption Jan Lokpal Bill.

In an emergency meeting AMUSU executive discussed the “lackadaisical” approach of the UPA government in dealing with corruption. In the statement issued by the AMUSU the agreed with Anna Hazare that fight against the corruption is the “second battle for the independence of India.
AMUSU asked the UPA government to urgently accept the demands put forth by Anna Hazare. They also proposed to send a team to meet Anna Hazare to show their support of AMU students in the struggle against corruption.

In a separate statement, Delhi branch of Campus Front of India also expressed its solidarity with Anna Hazare and other social activists who sat on hunger strike in various parts of the country.

Campus Front of India urged the Government to establish the Lokpal Bill which will bring probity and transparency in governance, and provide safeguards against corruption.
All India Students’ Association (AISA) has asked its members to join Anna Hazare at Jantar Mantar from Friday April 8th.
