‘We should think of measures to strengthen the mutual confidence between the negotiating sides,’ Hong said in his weekly press conference in Beijing on Thursday.

Referring to Iran’s readiness for resumption of nuclear talks with 5+1 Group, Hong once again emphasized his country’s stance vis-à-vis Iran’s nuclear issue saying that China has always supported Iran’s nuclear issue to be resolved through dialogue.

The last round of talks between Iran and 5+1 Group was held in Istanbul, Turkey on January 22, 2011.

China, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has always opposed exerting pressure on Iran and imposing sanctions against Iran over its peaceful and civilian nuclear program.
