New Delhi: Renault-Nissan Automotive India Private Limited (NMIPL) Wednesday appointed Kou Kimura as the chief executive and managing director for its manufacturing facility at Oragadam near Chennai.
Kimura, who was senior vice president for plant operations, replaces Akira Sakurai, who steered the initial phase of production, according to a company statement.
Sakurai has been appointed senior vice president for manufacturing and industrial engineering division at the company’s corporate headquarters in Japan.
Kimura, a mechanical engineering graduate, has been with the company for the past 34 years and has held various positions at the Nissan headquarters in Japan and also in the UK.
NMIPL is a 100 percent subsidiary of Nissan Motor Limited Japan, and was incorporated in 2005. It began exports to more than 100 countries including Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2010.
