Legislator Sushil Kumar Singh represents Dhanapur constituency in Chandauli district, which adjoins Varanasi district.

Even though the CBI sleuths did not disclose anything about the raids, sources in police claimed that these were in connection with a coal smuggling racket.

According to sources, the raids were carried out after the name of a relative of the legislator surfaced in a probe into the racket.

The raids, carried out at the legislator’s house in Sigra and his relative’s house in Kapsethi, continued for around three-four hours, CBI sources said.
