The division bench headed by Justice A.K. Sikri said: “Vikas will attend his brother’s marriage ceremony on April 29. He will be taken there by 6 p.m. and will stay there throughout the ceremony which will culminate April 30 morning.”

Sikri said that Vikas is free to interact with his relatives throughout the time that he is there.

On April 7, the court had granted two hours’ custodial parole to Vikas for attending his younger brother Kunal’s engagement ceremony April 14.

In June 2008, Vikas and his cousin Vishal Yadav were convicted for killing Katara, an MBA graduate, and were sentenced to life imprisonment.

Vikas and Vishal kidnapped Katara, an Indian Administrative Service officer’s son, on Feb 16, 2002, from a marriage party in Ghaziabad and killed him. Vikas was opposed to his sister Bharti’s intimacy with Nitish.
