Indian ordnance board in pact with foreign vendors

New Delhi : The Ordnance Factory Board has been allowed to enter into agreements with foreign vendors for transfer of technology on case to case basis, Defence Minister A.K. Antony said Wednesday.

The minister said in a statement to the Rajya Sabha that the present staff strength of ordinance factories was not enough to meet the demands of the three services of the armed forces.

He added that in 2010-11, the ordnance factories recruited 14,199 people.
