New Delhi : Delhi had to go through a hot and muggy Friday, after light showers in the morning but the Met Office forecast a wet Saturday.
Friday’s maximum temperature settled three notches below average at 31 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 25.7 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season, an official of the India Meteorological Department said.
The city received 0.2 mm of rainfall Friday between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.
Humidity wavered between a high of 97 and a low of 77 percent.
“Saturday will see a similar weather pattern. The skies will remain cloudy and there is a possibility of rain in some parts of the city,” the official said.
“The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 31 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively,” he added.
The city has so far received 387.3 mm of rainfall this monsoon, 22 percent below average for the season.
