Agra: Agra was the coldest city in Uttar Pradesh Wednesday but this did not deter tourists from thronging the Taj Mahal.
Despite chilly winds, Christmas and New Year holiday crowds continued to swell at the Taj, forcing authorities to deploy additional security personnel for frisking. Ticket sales crossed 35,000.
According to officials, Wednesday’s minimum was 2 degrees Celsius. For the third day in a row, Agra’s temperature was the lowest in the state. A further fall in night temperature is predicted.
