Kochi: The Kerala Waqf committee demanded the state government to immediately provide the central funds allocated for modernisation of Madarsa Education. The applications made by Madarsa to obtain these funds were rejected by the District Educational board citing negligible reasons. The Waqf Committee in its meeting asked Educational board to re-examine those applications.
The educational board directors of each district had earlier received applications and were obliged to inform the Madarsa committees on the status of their applications after closer examinations.
And there were Governmental orders to send these applications to the Thiruvananthapuram Educational Director office, at the earliest. At present it seems like there has been some serious lapse from the part of the district officers in recording and sending these applications, as the Madarsa committees haven’t received any replies yet.
The meeting of the Kerala Waqf committee held to discuss on the issue was attended by its state President Dr PA Said, Vice President CK Shuckoor and state committee members. The meeting made a decision to submit a letter before the state Educational Minister PK Abdul Rab on this regard.
