AMU workshop on empowerment of the differently abled

Aligarh: The Career Counseling Cell, M. M. Hall, Aligarh Muslim University organized a workshop on “How to Empower the Physically Challenged People”. An interactive session of physically and visually challenged students with Prof. Nabi Ahmad, Coordinator, Disability Unit, AMU was also held on this occasion.

Prof. Nabi Ahmad, in his address to differently-abled students highlighted the activities undertaken by AMU Disability Unit for the upliftment of young learners. In his hour-long interaction with the students, he urged the students to work harder for achieving excellence in whatever subject or career they choose. Prof. Nabi Ahmad vehemently exhorted the differently-abled group of students to prove their usefulness for the society by doing smaller things like visiting their fellow students whenever they fall ill or in distress. Prof. Ahmad encouraged them to acquire knowledge with single minded devotion and achieve their target by enhancing their capabilities. He stressed the need of sensitizing the people towards the problems and needs of differently-abled people.

Prof. Ahmad appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of the Provost, M.M. Hall, Dr. Suhail Sabir and his team of wardens and student organizer, Mr. Arif Ali Ansari and Mr. Mansoor for visualizing and organizing the pioneering programme.

Dr. Suhail Sabir, Provost, M.M. Hall welcomed Prof. Nabi Ahmad and urged the students not to feel let down by their physical disabilities because God, the almighty, compensate with by infusing other capabilities in them.
