New Delhi : The body of a 22-year-old woman whose throat had been slit was Friday found stuffed in an abandoned travel bag at the New Delhi railway station, police said.
The murder came to light in the morning when a passenger noticed the bag with blood dripping from it. The police were immediately alerted.
“Her hands were tied with a rope. There were injury marks on different parts of her body but she died of a cut in her throat,” a police officer said. “The girl is of fair complexion and 5″2 in height.”
Police are trying to identify the victim and are examining closed-circuit television camera footage at the station for clues to the murder.
“The girl wore a pocketless jeans and a top. We suspect she was murdered elsewhere and the body was dumped at the station,” the official said.
“It seems to be a carefully planned murder,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police B.S. Gurjar told IANS.
