New Delhi : Experts from various institutions will participate in an international conference on policy reforms organised by the Jamia Millia Islamia.
The three-day conference on “Relevance of Policy Reforms on Development: Challenges Before Emerging Economies” will begin Thursday.
The conference will cover new vistas of effective management of social welfare programmes, categorise new challenges and innovative measures in policy formulation and implementation, organisers said Tuesday.
Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia will give the valedictory address in the conference.
Organised by the university’s Department of Social Work, the event will bring together various stakeholders like government officials, policy makers, programme administrators, eminent scholars, corporate leaders and social organisations to debate and discuss policy issues and innovative reform practices.
The conference will also examine the relevance of public sector reforms in social sector development and stakeholders’ roles with specific reference to accountability, responsibility, performance, and transparency, said the organisers.
