New Delhi: Delhi will get higher central funds in 2011-12 as Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee Monday hiked the capital’s budgetary allocation to Rs.1,257.86 crore — up 16.41 percent from last fiscal.
The central plan assistance for the fiscal 2010-11 was Rs.1080.51 crore and for this year it has been hiked to Rs.1,257.86 crore, said a Delhi government statement.
Another Rs.252.70 crore have been earmarked under normal central assistance. This is almost 10 percent more than Rs.229.72 crore allocated in 2010-11.
Apart from this, the Delhi government’s allocation under the Central Road Fund will be Rs.65.13 crore. Last year, the allocation was Rs.58.40 crore.
The city government will also get Rs.900 crore under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, which is 20 percent from last year’s Rs.694.47 crore.
Funds for Basic Services to Urban Poor have been increased from Rs.184.47 crore to Rs.390 crore.
Budgetary allocation for Urban Infrastructure and Governance would be Rs.500 crore. The allocation for Rajiv Awas Yojana would be Rs.10 crore. For both the schemes, the funds allocated last year were the same.
