Jauhar appointed Ambedkar University vice chancellor

Chandigarh : D.N. Jauhar, professor of law at the Panjab University, has been appointed vice chancellor of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University (formerly Agra University), a communique received here Tuesday from Raj Bhavan in Lucknow said.

Jauhar, a former chairman of the Panjab University’s law department here, has been appointed for a term of three years by Uttar Pradesh Governor B.L. Joshi, who is the chancellor of the university.

Jauhar received his legal education at the Panjab University, and has over four decades of teaching and research experience. His research work on the landlord-tenant relations has been cited and quoted by the Supreme Court and several high courts.

Jauhar has been a member of the visiting faculty of several Indian and foreign universities.

“I have received the communication from the Raj Bhavan today (Tuesday). I will be joining shortly,” Jauhar told IANS.
