Hyderabad: Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee (CLMC) has condemned the alleged boycott of news related to Telangana by the electronic media. Calling it as the “violation” of the fundamental rights of the citizens of Telangana region, the CLMC has expressed deep concern at this kind of censorship and its repercussions on the freedom of press in India.
In a letter written to Mr. K.V.L Narayana Rao, the president of National Broadcasters Association (NBA), Lateef Md. Khan, general secretary of CLMC, has demanded that broadcasters should immediately lift this unofficial censorship. The CLMC also wants to know whether the decision of curb was implemented by NBA itself or under the
pressure of state.
