Chandigarh : Terming reports of his differences with Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda as rumours, Finance Minister Ajay Singh Yadav Monday said that there are some people who are running this “false propaganda” against him.

“I have no differences with the chief minister. In fact, I always stand beside him, supporting him in his initiatives. I have full belief in the Congress’ policies and even my ancestors were staunch followers of this party,” Yadav told reporters here.

“I have not criticised any policy or decision of the Hooda government. There are some people who are running this wrong propaganda. But yes, I have given my suggestions on various issues and in democracy everyone has this right,” he added.

There were reports that Yadav had written letters to Hooda, expressing discontent over some issues, including the state’s land acquisition policy.

Yadav is also drawing flak from various quarters over his alleged appreciation of Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Gujarat, during a press conference at Sirsa Jan 14.

“My statement has been projected wrongly and taken in a different context. I had only said that we should adopt the positive points, which have led to faster growth of agriculture in Gujarat, in our state. I had never praised any individual by going against my own party,” said Yadav.

However, Yadav also praised the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party government’s land acquisition policy in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh.

“UP’s (Uttar Pradesh) land acquisition policy is very good. They give share from the profits to the farmers and at some places commercial plots are also given to them.”

Yadav, a veteran Congress leader, has been continuously elected legislator since 1989.
