“On July 14, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed for information-sharing on industrial estates and infrastructure development,” JCCI said in a statement.

The agreement would help Japanese companies in their expansion plans, as well as enhancement of existing operations in the state.

“Though information was available on industrial estates and roads infrastructure during these days, but it was not adequate to support on venturing enterprises,” the statement said, adding that the problems lay in contacting multiple government offices for information on the issue.

Yasunori Watanabe, representative of JCCI, Bangalore chapter, said both sides would also provide support to venturing enterprises and infrastructure development by helping the companies with incorporation formalities.

Currently there are about 175 Japanese companies in Bangalore. Earlier, various Japanese companies announced plans for large-scale investments in two-wheeler manufacturing, including ancillaries and in electronic parts segment.
