Islamabad : The judicial commission probing the abduction and killing of Pakistani journalist Saleem Shahzad has not got the records of his mobile phones and e-mails, a media report said.
Shahzad, 40, was kidnapped in Islamabad May 29 and his body, bearing marks of severe torture, was found in a canal in Pakistan’s Punjab province two days later.
He is widely believed to have been seized by intelligence officials for alleging in an article that terrorists attacked a naval base in Karachi after the navy refused to free sailors held for suspected militant links.
The probe panel held a meeting Tuesday that was presided over by Justice Saqib Nisar, the daily Dawn reported Wednesday.
Pervaiz Shaukat, a commission member, said: “We have been told that search for Saleem Shahzad’s laptop and mobile phone is under way.”
