Four die in Dhaka lift collapse

Dhaka : Four workers died at an under-construction building in Dhaka, when a makeshift lift carrying them to the 13th floor plunged to the ground, reports said.

The lift was also loaded with around 25 packets of tiles, each pack weighing 28kg.

The victims were crushed and looked lifeless, but their fellow workers rushed them to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared them dead.

A worker said the elevator was in poor condition and did not have any safety door.
