Dubai Police to crackdown on begging during Ramadan

Dubai: The Dubai Police has drawn up plans to crackdown on begging and theft during the holy month of Ramadan, it was announced Friday.

Brig. Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, director of the Criminal Investigation Department of Dubai Police, said the special patrols would be started across the emirate to combat begging during Ramadan, which starts Aug 1.

He also called on the people not to leave valuables in their cars when they come to offer prayers at mosques during Ramadan.
