“The way the head and chest of the victims were targeted from point blank range, and their corpses were trampled is indicative of the fact that they were deliberately attacked on behest of anti Muslim forces.” Madani said in a statement on 12th June. He alleged that Ashok Agarwal and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi being party to the case corroborates this apprehension that the killing was communally motivated. He regretted that law enforcing agencies time and again fall prey to those involved in disturbing secular fabric of the country by striking atrocities on minorites. He termed this police firing as most barbaric after Hashimpura incident 1987 in which 50 Muslims were shot dead by military.

He also condemned state and central governments for not showing concern for this firing. “Is it not double standard of Congress top brass who threw entire forces behind Bhatta Parsoul incident and did not take any notice of the sorrowful episode in Forbesganj. He asserted such extra judicial killing agnaist Muslims will not be tolerated in a country where Muslims constitute as second largest majority.”

Mahmood Madani also wrote a letter to Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar demanding immediate action against DM and SP of Araria district and CBI probe of the firing.

“I demand immediate action against DM, SP and other guilty persons; the responsible administration forthwith be suspended as it is necessary for transparent and impartial enquiry and prompt judicial inquiry into the incident be initiated or by the CBI. The enquiry must be extended to the communal political leaders whose hands in this incident are reportedly suspected including MLC Ashok Agarwal and others.”

Meanwhile, a team of Jamiat today visited Bhajanpur village and consoled the victims. The team led by Mufti Jawed, vice president, Bihar chapter of Jamiat included central Jamiat functionary Naushad Adil and Zillur Rahman, Jamiat president, Araria.
