Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar continued his cold and indifferent attitude towards the Forbesganj police firing case on 22nd June when he refused to meet Mr Wajahat Habibullah, Chairperson, National Commission for Minorities. NCM chief reached Patna on Wednesday afternoon from Forbesganj where he visited Bhajanpur village and met the victims of June 3 police firing the previous day.
NCM chief Wajahat Habibullah had faxed to Bihar CM on 15th June seeking appointment for meeting on 22nd June on his return from Forbesganj. But the CM did not entertain the request and even though being in town he did not spare time to meet Habibullah. Habibullah had decided to visit Forbesganj as the reports he sought from Araria SP and state Home Secretary were not satisfactory.
However, NCM chief met Governor Devanand Konwar besides Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Director General of Police.

At his brief stay at the state Guest House before he flew to New Delhi in the evening, Habibullah interacted with media persons and representatives of some Muslim groups and social activists. He condemned police firing saying it was unwarranted and could be avoided.
Even 20 days after the gruesome killing of villagers by the police, CM Nitish Kumar has not taken action against any police officer, neither announced compensation for the victims except for the six-month-old infant who was killed when state bullets pierced his mother’s hand and entered his stomach and waist. His mother is being treated at PMCH in Patna. The government has not announced any compensation for her.
