Militant held for Kashmir grenade attack

Srinagar : A militant was arrested for hurling a grenade that exploded inside a police station compound in Jammu and Kashmir injuring six people a day earlier, police said Saturday.

“Tanveer Ahmad Sheeru, a resident of Arampora (Sopore), affiliated to Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit, was arrested by police,” a police statement said.

The explosion at the police station in Sopore Friday afternoon injured five civilians and a head constable.

“The arrested militant had earlier been held on charges of stone pelting in Sopore town,” the statement said.
