New Delhi: A demonstration will be held on 29th June at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to protest against the brutal assault on Sandeep Singh, former JNU Students Union president and present national president of All India Students Union (AISA). Singh was assaulted allegedly by Congress party workers in Ranchi last week when he was leading a protest against corruption in Congress-led UPA government at the centre.
On 24th June 2011, Sandeep Singh was physically assaulted in Ranchi by Congress ‘goons’. Sandeep and other AISA activists were punished for daring to ask uncomfortable questions on the spate of scams, loot of public funds and corporate loot of natural resources at a press conference in Ranchi.

“Left with no answers to the growing protests against its regime of corruption and corporate loot, the UPA is now resorting to brutal scuttling of dissenting voices,” said Ravi Rai, National; General Secretary, AISA.
