The Kolkata-based Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) will organise the three-day expo beginning May 21, ICC deputy director Bodhisattwa Mukherjee said here.
Adviser to the ICC Nakib Ahmed said that the exhibition “India Investrade” would be supported by India’s commerce ministry.
“Bangladeshi traders will also get opportunity to showcase their energy and electrical equipment in the exhibition,” New Age quoted him as saying Sunday.
About 60 large- and small-scale electrical equipment manufacturers will participate in the event.
“We should utilise the economic potential of our big neighbour,” said Asif Ibrahim, president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
President of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdul Matlub Ahmed, said the fair would help business leaders of both the countries to get to know each other as it is important to know what type of power equipment Bangladesh required.
The current trade volume between India and Bangladesh is more than $3 billion.
