Tokyo : Japan Sunday revised the magnitude of the earthquake that struck the country’s northeastern region two days ago to 9 from 8.8 on the Richter scale, Xinhua reported, citing Kyodo News agency.
The US Geological Survey measured Friday’s quake that triggered a tsunami at 8.9 on the Richter scale.
More than 1,000 people have died and thousands are missing.
