The speaker asked the government to inform the house Friday about action initiated against the erring officials.

“The government should take the issue seriously,” said the speaker.

Government officials are supposed to be present in the assembly gallery to help ministers give replies during the proceedings.

Annapurna Devi of the Rashtriya Janata Dal drew the attention of the speaker to the absence of officials from the gallery.

The leader of opposition and senior Congress leader Rajendra Prasad Singh reminded the speaker about his earlier observation in which he had directed officials to remain present in the house.
