Imam of Haram to visit Darul Uloom Deoband tomorrow

Deoband: The Imam of Grand Haram Sharif in Makkah Shaikh Abdur Rahman Al-Sudais will be on his maiden visit to Darul Uloom Deoband, the most influential Islamic seminary in the sub-continent, on Friday 25 March 2011.

The seminary is preparing to give warm welcome to Shaikh Sudais who will arrive here on the morning of 25 March through special helicopter. He will be accompanied by several Saudi elites. Besides thousand of common people, a number of Indian Muslim religious as well as political leaders will also be there.

On his arrival, Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani, Acting Rector of Darul Uloom Deoaband, along with other senior teachers of the seminary will receive Shaikh Sudais.

A welcome function will be held at Masjid-e-Rashid of the seminary after which Shaikh will deliver Juma Sermon and lead the Juma prayer which is expected to be attended by thousands of Muslims from different parts of the country. He will leave for Delhi at afternoon time.

It should be noted here that Shaikh Sudais is visiting India on the invitation of Maulana Arshad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind (Arshad faction), to attend the ‘Azmat-e-Sahaba Conference’ to be held under the banner of Jamiat on 26 Mar 2011 at Ram Lila Maidan, New Delhi.

At the conference, Shaikh Sudais will deliver his lecture on the life and status of the companions of the Prophet (SAW). He will lead the Maghrib as well as Esha prayers at the venue of the conference.

He is also scheduled to lead Maghrib prayer at Delhi Jama Masjid on 27 March. Besides, during his short visit he will also be visiting headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Markaji Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith and India Islamic Cultural Centre all in New Delhi.
