Raipur : The Chhattisgarh government faces a shortage of over 1,600 doctors, state Health Minister Amar Agrawal informed the assembly Friday.
“The state is facing severe shortage of doctors mainly in rural areas. Overall, 1,467 posts of MBBS doctors are vacant in the state against 2,601 sanctioned posts.
“Besides, 104 posts of ayurvedic doctors and 75 and 20 posts of homeopathy and Unani doctors, respectively, are also lying vacant,” the minister said.
