Government to arrive at conclusions on Shunglu report: Congress

By IANS,

New Delhi : Amid demands by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the wake of the V.K. Shunglu Committee report blaming her for the losses and delays in the Commonwealth Games projects, the Congress Monday said it was for the government to come to an appropriate conclusion.

“The committee has submitted the report to the government. It is for the government to go into its merits and come to appropriate conclusions,” Congress spokesman Manish Tewari said in response to questions relating to indictment of Dikshit and Delhi Lt. Governor Tejinder Khanna in the report.

Answering queries, Tewari said the Congress has always believed that whoever has committed any indiscretion needs to be punished.

The BJP has been demanding Dikshit’s resignation and a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the allegations related to the Games.
