Greater Noida : The Gautam Buddha University here Tuesday marked Buddha Poornima with a seminar focussing on Buddhism in India.
The seminar, held in the main hall of the university’s Jyotiba Phule Meditation Centre, attracted a number of scholars, university teachers and students.
Vice Chancellor S.R. Lakha said that the university’s “collective efforts shall create a hallmark in higher education, training and research”.
He highlighted the establishment and functioning of the School of Buddhist Studies and Civilisation in the 2012-13 academic session.
The university has planned a Buddhist museum and research centre spread over 22 acres of land with a budget of Rs.86 crore.
