Jaipur: Women can play the most important role in removing evils from the society, said Er. Khurshid Hussain, Rajasthan president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. He was addressing a women’s conference titled “Role of Women in Social Reform” organized by the women cell of Jaipur unit of JIH Rajasthan here on Sunday.
The sole purpose of the Muslim community is to spread virtues and remove evils from the society. We will have to be ready to do this job after acquiring knowledge about the religion, Er Khurshid further said.
Addressing the conference, former JIH Rajasthan president Er. Mohd Saleem expressed concern at the rising gap in male-female ratio in the society. The Census 2011 has revealed that the number of women against men has further gone down and this is an issue of concern. He said the policies of the government are, to a big extent, responsible for the growing gender disparity. There are laws to check feticide but they are not being followed, he said.
