Preparation in full swing for Sunni Dawat-e-Islami Ijtema in Mumbai

Mumbai: Hundreds of youth from around Mumbai reached Azad Maidan, near CST Railway Station on Monday to help and support in the preparation for the 21st Ijtema of Sunni Dawat-e-Islami scheduled to be held from 21-23 October, 2011.

President of Dawat-e-Islami, Maulana Shakir Noori was personally looking after the preparation. He was motivating and guiding kids, youth, old people who were voluntarily preparing for the Ijtema that the organizers expect will be attended by lacs of devout Sunni Muslims from across India. They will stay in the ground for the three days.



Volunteers digging ponds at Wadi-e- Noor, Azad Maidan, Mumbai

The volunteers are working on three big ponds or Hauz for wazu and hundreds of toilets and bathrooms.

Maulana Shakir Noori inaugurated the work in the ground, workers and volunteers followed him up till the 4.00 a.m. Maulana encouraged them for better return in the life hereafter.

The First day of the Ijtema will begin on Friday, 21st October with Friday sermon and Namaz. On Friday Ijtema is specially organized for Muslim women. Topics and issues related to them will be discussed. Saturday and Sunday are special for men. Speakers will include Ulema and intellectuals that are expected from around the world.

Big hoardings are being erected on Mumbai streets and roads to invite people to the Ijtema.
