Helicopter strayed due to inclement weather: Government

New Delhi : The Indian government said Sunday that an army helicopter which landed in Pakistan-administered Kashmir had strayed across the line of control (LoC) due to inclement weather.

“It is understood that an army Cheetah helicopter flying from Leh to Bhimbet with four officers on board strayed across the Line of Control due to inclement weather and landed in PoK (Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir),” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vishnu Prakash said here.

He said India’s high commission in Islamabad had been in touch with the Pakistani side.

The helicopter has since returned to Kargil.
