Lucknow: Pasmanda Muslim Samaj (PMS) – an organization of backward Muslims, has lashed out at Naseemuddin Siddiqui, the senior cabinet minister of Mayawati government, branding him as anti Muslim on Sunday. The PMS is an umbrella organization of 32 backward castes of Muslims with sizeable clout across the state.
The organization alleged that despite being a powerful minister in the state cabinet, Siddiqui failed to fulfill the expectations of Muslim community. “He indulged in benefiting only his family members, friends and few clerics. For the general Muslims he did not do anything. This assembly election he will be routed as he stands exposed before the Muslims,” said President of PMS, Anees Mansoori during the Eid Milan function in Lucknow on Sunday.

“Muslims supported the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and as a result 35 Muslim MLAs won on BSP ticket. Siddiqui was entrusted with the responsibility to bring the community in the party fold but he failed to win them over,” added Mansoori
The PMS leader alleged that Siddiqui mislead the BSP supremo Mayawati by presenting some Muslim clerics as representatives of the community. “It will be exposed in the coming elections. Nearly 85 percent of the Muslim community is backward and PMS will ensure that Muslim candidates of BSP backing are routed,” he said.
Over the political adjustments, Mansoori stated that PMS is ready to extend support to any political party which addresses their agenda as scrapping Article 341 thus providing SC status to Muslims, representation of backward Muslims in ticket distribution as per their numbers. He claimed that talks are going on with some political parties and a deal will be soon finalized.
