Asgar Imam, Md Mansoor among 13 Bihar Police officers promoted to IPS

Patna: Faced with the scarcity of IPS rank officers, Bihar has got 13 IPS rank police officers with the Centre notifying the promotion of these Bihar Police Service officers to the Indian Police Service rank. There are three Muslims among the 13 newly promoted IPS officers. The Centre issued the notification on 30th August.

Five of them have been allotted 2007 batch of IPS. They are: Asgar Imam, (SP, special branch), Dayanand Kumar (commandant, BMP-3, Bodh Gaya), Sudhir Kumar (SP, vigilance), Prakash Kumar Sinha (SP, Sheohar) and Ajit Kumar Rai (SP, home guards).

Eight others have been inducted in the 2008 batch of IPS. They are: Md. Mansoor Ahmad (SP, CID), Md Rahman (SP, Saharsa), Mithu Prasad (SP, Khagaria), Sukan Paswan (SRP, Katihar), Vinod Kumar 2 (SP, Supaul), Saurabh Kumar (SP, Madhepura), Varun Kumar Sinha (SP, Samastipur) and Chandrika Prasad (SP, Jehanabad).
