Lucknow: For the convenience of Haj pilgrims, the formalities for custom checking will be completed at Haj House in Sarojini Nagar. Even their luggage checking will be done at Haj House instead of airport. The flights for Haj pilgrimage will leave from September 29 to October 16.
Senior cabinet minister and Chairman, State Haj Committee (SHC) Naseemuddin Siddiqui during a meeting of the committee on Monday stated that custom department has declared a notified area for custom checking in Haj House itself. The luggage will also be checked at Haj House and it will be transported to airport in a seperate vehicle under the protection of security forces. The pilgrims need not be worried about luggage checking formalities at the airport.
Nearly 31000 Haj pilgrims will leave for the pilgrimage from UP this year. There will be flights from Lucknow, Varanasi and for western region of the state it will be Delhi. The devotees will be called two days before their boarding. Only one attendant will be allowed inside the Haj house with one group of devotees. Special buses will further transport the devotees from Haj House to Amausi Airport. On an average 1000 persons will leave for Saudi Arabia per day from the state. Siddiqui also requested the Saudi Airlines, the official carrier that there should not be any misbehaviour with the pilgrims and every care should be taken for their comfort.
