Chennai : Over 100 sailors representing 10 countries will take part in the India International Regatta (IIR) to be held here Oct 2-9.
The monsoon conditions are expected to add spice to the proceedings as the event will be held in the choppy Bay of Bengal waters for the third year in a row.
Sailors from Ireland, Malaysia, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Myanmar and Indonesia besides India have confirmed participation.
There will be two youth racing classes — single handed Optimist dinghy for the sub junior sailors and the 29er for adolescent sailors.
