P. Chandrashekar, station house officer of Sangareddy town and Ch. Veeraiah, sub-inspector of Sangareddy rural police station, have been suspended for their slack response during the riots.

DGP Dinesh Reddy issued orders for their suspension basing on complaints from many victims of the riots. Earlier Home Minister Sabhita Indra Reddy had also promised tough action against the police officers when she visited the riot-hit areas. Local Muslim businessmen had complained her about the inaction of local town police during the riots.

DGP has also issued charge memo against two top cops T. Lakshminarsiah Addtl superintendent of police (administration), Medak district, and G. Venkatesh, SDPO Sangareddy town.

The state government has taken the decision when it is again under attack for weak and communal policing which resulted in communal violence in Hyderabad three days ago. Some areas of old city of Hyderabad are still under curfew.
