Sana’a: The Yemeni wing of terror outfit Al Qaeda Saturday released after mediation by a tribal leader 73 Yemeni soldiers captured two months ago, Xinhua reported.
The soldiers were captured during a clash in the southern province of Abyan.
The Ansar al-Sharia group of the Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in Jaar city released the soldiers “following a tribal mediation led by chieftain Awad Banajar, relatives of the captured soldiers and non-government human rights groups”, the outfit said in a statement.
